I stumbled across yet another cool food market in Groningen.
A caramel-like syrup sandwiched between two thin layers of waffles – This delicious snack was invented in the Netherlands in 1784!
Ah, this really makes me miss the Dutch markets! You don’t find the variety (or those prices) in Norway…
I completely understand your sentiment of missing home! I miss the food and shopping in Australia so much!
I spent 6 months living in Amsterdam and was able to travel all over the Netherlands. The markets were definitely one of my favorite attractions in the towns. So much good cheese, bread, and stroopwafels! I’d love to be able to go back!
I know! Hubby and I tried so many of the cheeses! We even went back for seconds because I had to walk around a second time to get some better photos! And guess what? We found stroopwafels in the supermarket here! So happy! Hope they have them in Australia too!
